Mike Soloman was raised in Kamloops B.C. He was naturally drawn to art at a young age, but it wasn't until his late 20's when he rediscovered it. After attending music school and years of playing/recording in bands, he switched his attention back to the visual mediums and taught himself how to paint. As most artists must find supplimentation to support their work, Mike gravitated towards residential landscape garden design. This connection with nature and his deep affinity for the animal world has worked it's way into his work. Soloman's oil paintings carry an ethereal quality often blending geometric shapes with an old-world feel in a style that is realism sliding into the abstract.
